About
Al Amin Seeds, a seed-producing business in Sharsha upazila, Jashore, ran a trial crop on 76 decimals in the fields of Amlai village to produce seed of the zinc-rich BRRI dhan100 (Bangabandhu) rice and meet farmers' demand for it. Its director, Delwar Hossain, said the crop was growing well with little disease and the yield looked promising. He plans to produce and market the seed so that farmers can buy it from him from the following year; many farmers have already shown interest.
