Cumilla Flour Mill is one of five semai (vermicelli) factories in the Cumilla BSCIC industrial estate and has made semai for 12 years. Bangla semai is machine-made and hung on the roof to dry; laccha semai is fried in oil and packed. Bangla semai is sold under the names 'Al-Noor' and 'Kulsum', and laccha semai as 'Tanin'. Manager Syed Golam Kader says production peaks in the Eid season; their semai sells mostly in greater Cumilla and Noakhali, and Bangla semai is popular in char areas. BSCIC inspects the factories regularly for quality.
