About
Digonto Agro Farm belongs to entrepreneur Dildar Khan in Sreedharpur village, Bishwanath municipality. Turning down a chance to go abroad, he started in 2001 with table fish on 10 acres, and from 2005 focused on producing fish fry. The farm now covers 35 acres, with 10 ponds producing and selling fry of local catfish, pabda, gulsha and pangas. He brings in hatchlings from Sreemangal and from Trishal in Mymensingh and raises them to saleable fry in just 20 days. He also farms large carp and grows banana, ginger, cucumber and boro rice. His fry supply farmers across the district, and he earns more than Tk 1 lakh a month from fry. In 2025 he won the upazila's best fish farmer award. He plans to deliver fresh fish and vegetables directly to consumers' doors.
