Farmers Hub Green House

On 20 decimals of sharecropped land beside the main road near the bus terminal, one kilometre from Alamdanga town in Chuadanga, siblings Imran Hossain and homeopathic doctor Dr. Sujon Tara run a nursery called 'Farmers Hub Green House'. They live in Bokshipur village of Dauki union in the upazila. It started in mid-2025 for about Tk 50,000 with the help of a private development organisation funded by the World Bank; college student Imran learned the method from YouTube and took farm training. Instead of soil, seedlings of brinjal, cauliflower, cabbage, chilli, tomato, sweet pumpkin and other winter vegetables are raised in plastic trays and small cups filled with cocopeat made by composting coconut fibre, cow dung, water hyacinth and a little chemical fertiliser; about 100,000 seedlings sit on 40 beds across some 10 decimals of shade-net poly house. Seeds sprout in three days and seedlings are ready to sell in 15 days. They sell 8,000-10,000 seedlings a day and make about Tk 50,000 profit a month. Buyers come to the nursery for retail and wholesale seedlings, and many also buy vermicompost and cocopeat.
