Mohammad Iqbal Hossain, a farmer of Jagannathpur Paschim Para in Khaliajuri upazila, Netrokona, is named a 'successful farmer' in a BSS report. In the 2026 season he grew sweet pumpkin on 100 kathas of land and had already sold 15 tonnes by the time of the report; prices were much higher than the year before. In the Khaliajuri haor, wholesalers from Bogura, Kushtia, Rangpur, Rajshahi, Kishoreganj and Mymensingh come with trucks and buy pumpkins straight from farmers' fields. He wants an opportunity to export the haor's pumpkins abroad.
