About
Farmer Kazi Kawsar of Chakrampur village, Bahubal, grows year-round lemons on 10,000 trees across about 15 acres. The lemons sell for Tk 14 lakh a year against Tk 7 lakh in costs. In April 2025 improved ginger was planted beneath the lemon trees on 5 acres; each tree is expected to yield 1–1.5 kg of ginger, saleable at no less than Tk 120 a kg. The intercropping follows advice from the upazila agriculture office. Local workers including Sadhu Munda, Upen Tanti and Robi Santal work in the garden.
