About
'Khokon Coffee House and Poth Pathagar' at Mathaphata Bazar in Rupnarayankura union, Nalitabari upazila, Sherpur, is a tea and coffee shop with a book library along one side. Its owner, Toufiqur Rahman Khokon, has long been involved with social and cultural groups; to draw young people to books he set up 'Poth Pathagar' beside his tea shop in 2025. More than a hundred books on history, the Liberation War, religion, biography, novels, stories, science and self-improvement are shelved in the shop. Every day people of all ages, especially school and college students and young people, read while they drink their tea. The collection is growing through books collected from and donated by local people, and he plans to expand the library.
