About
Maa Agro Farm in Harikalas village, Bishwanath upazila, Sylhet, is a commercial cattle farm founded by UK-based expatriate entrepreneur Taj Uddin. It began about eight years ago with a single calf and is managed by his brother Sala Uddin. It now has 30 cross-bred cattle of various sizes, cared for by three trained workers. The cattle are fed silage, bran, oil cake and green grass, and the farm is kept clean. It earns about Tk 20 lakh a year, and for Eid-ul-Azha 2026 it aimed to sell nearly Tk 1 crore worth of cattle. According to the manager, the farm had the biggest cattle in the upazila that Eid, with one large animal priced at Tk 6 lakh.
