About
Mizanur Rahman (27) of the Moulvibazar area in Sadar union, Gangachara upazila of Rangpur, took charge of his family at 15 after his father Nur Islam, a rickshaw puller, died in 2010; he studied only up to class two. With Tk 20,000 saved from day labour and construction work, he got an old bicycle and began hawking women's fabric (than kapor), orna and mosquito nets along village roads. He buys the colours village women like from wholesale shops in town; his good name with wholesalers lets him buy on credit, and he also sells on credit to village women, who pay and then take new cloth. With this income he has married off his two sisters.
