About
Mokarram Hossain, from Chuadanga, has planted grape gardens on 25 katha in Jhenaidah and 27 bigha in Naogaon. He says he started in 2017 and, after five years of trying, reached commercial production in 2022. In 2024 he earned Tk 1 lakh from seven katha, Tk 2 lakh the following year, and this year (2026) about Tk 4 lakh from 25 katha. His garden has five grape varieties including Baikonur, whose cuttings he obtained through Bangladeshis working abroad. He says he has taken no help from the agriculture department.
