Julekha Khatun Soma of Gafargaon, Mymensingh, started 'NSP House' from her home four years ago with only Tk 33,000, as a combined online and offline business. She began with three-piece suits, saris and cosmetics; the business now reaches customers in many districts and she sends goods abroad by courier. Monthly sales are Tk 2.5–3 lakh, and the business holds about Tk 16–17 lakh in capital and stock. She is also a lecturer in economics at Altaf Golandaz Degree College in Gafargaon. She has received the 'Smart Women Entrepreneur ICT Grant' honour and was recognised as the best woman entrepreneur of Mymensingh district by the 'Nijer Bolar Moto Golpo' platform. She says good-quality products and reliable service keep customers' trust, and some of her students have started online businesses with her encouragement.
