About
Palli Techs is an IT firm run from a small rented room at Ichhakhada Bazar in Magura Sadar upazila. Munshi Sohag Hossain, who grew up in the government cluster village (guchchhogram) of Hazrapur union, studied information technology engineering at Gujarat Technological University on an Indian government ICCR scholarship, came home in 2020 and set up the firm instead of looking for a job. He named it Palli Techs ("village techs") because he wanted to build something in the countryside. The firm mainly develops software and also works on cyber security, artificial intelligence and big data management. For project work it has a global team of eight engineers, all his classmates from Gujarat, and at least five local students work part-time. It has built a data system called 'Khudro Nri-goshthir Man Unnoyon Model' for the Sadar upazila administration, the complaint and query website and app 'Dorjay Sorkar' for Sreepur upazila, and digitised the store and market departments of Magura municipality. At the end of 2022 Sohag earned Tk 80,000 to 1 lakh a month.
