About
Priyabhashini Jashore Stitch is a handcrafted-clothing business in Jashore founded by young entrepreneur Muslima Akter Mou. She started an online page in 2018; when Covid struck in 2020 she went full-time into hand-stitched goods to create work for struggling neighbours, so that local women could earn from home. The business makes hand-embroidered, block and batik three-pieces, Jashore-stitch muslin and silk saris, and Jashore's traditional nakshi kantha. In February 2022 she opened a small showroom at Muslim Academy Market on Bir Muktijoddha Ali Hossain Moni Road in Jashore town, and later set up a workshop attached to her home at Sadek Daroga crossing, Bejpara. More than a hundred wage-based field workers work for it. In March 2025 it took part in the 'Hal Fashion Eid Mela' in Dhaka. Her dream is for it to become an international brand.
