Shapla Tailors is a tailor's shop in Lalmonirhat district town. Orders peak before Eid; in the owner's words, orders were high again this year, as last year, and the team was working through the night. Each of the shop's tailors sews 10-15 garments a day on average. A regular customer, Aklima Khatun, said she has had her clothes made at Shapla Tailors since childhood, buying her own fabric each Eid and having it stitched here. The district's tailor shop owners said demand this year was highest for georgette, katan, silk, velvet, net, tussar, tissue and garments with zari, sequin and kundan work.
