Sukumar Pal, an idol-maker in Palpara, Natore town, learned the craft from his father and now works with the help of his family. For Durga Puja 2025 he was making eight idols. The most expensive was for the 200-year-old Bihari Jiu Akhra temple in the town, for which he charged Tk 2.25 lakh.
