Swapnil Sultana, from a village in Muradnagar, was the first person to train women to ride motorcycles and scooters in Cumilla city. In 2017 she bought her own scooty with savings and instalments; she left the government primary school job she got that year after two years to work independently. She began training in 2018 with just three women, then promoted it on Facebook and interest grew; during Covid in 2020 it was closed for a few months. More than 2,500 women have trained with her so far, and at least 500 ride regularly. Five young women she trained now work at her centre, which has 5 scooties and a motorbike for training. She trains at least 30 women a month and charges Tk 3,000 per person. Housewives and college students come from Cumilla town and from nearby districts and upazilas.
