The son has run his father's laundry since 1984. Thirty-eight unbroken years of paying income tax brought him an award as one of Chattogram's best long-term taxpayers for 2021-22.

This laundry at Dewanhat in Chattogram opened in 1968. The son took it over when his father died in 1984 and, now 69, is still running it. He has filed returns and paid income tax without a break for 38 years. In December 2022 he was honoured as one of Chattogram's best long-term taxpayers for the 2021-22 fiscal year. It is a case of a neighbourhood laundry running in the same spot, across two generations, for almost sixty years.
