This 38-year-old in the Krishnapur area of Kurigram Sadar learned block-making by watching YouTube and opened his own plant in 2021. The machinery was imported from China and runs on German technology, turning out seven types of environment-friendly block. Daily output is 7,000 to 10,000 blocks, and the report puts his average income at 3-4 lakh taka a month. His main argument to buyers is price: building with his blocks, he says, costs 25 percent less than with ordinary bricks. How much he invested, and how many people he employs, is not stated.
