Abu Toyob of Khudirai village in Purba Pagla union, South Sunamganj (Shantiganj) upazila, bought 1,500 ducks to run his farm. At the time of the report the ducks were laying, with more eggs expected the following month. He says this kind of duck can be sold after five months of rearing and that costs are low in this season. The duck farm has changed his finances. He believes the business would grow further with government support, and that farms would be bigger if some haor canals and ponds were not leased out.
