This is the fish arot of arotdar Abdul Momin Talukder at Ramnewaz fish ghat in Monpura upazila, Bhola. Hilsa caught by fishermen in the Meghna is brought here and auctioned in front of wholesalers and traders. The arotdar also buys fish at auction himself and sends it by launch to the Jatrabari fish arot in Dhaka; he says big hilsa are in heavy demand in the Barishal and Dhaka wholesale markets. On 29 June 2026 he was the top bidder for a 2.4 kg 'king hilsa' caught by Mehendiganj fisherman Ismail Majhi, buying it for Tk 9,300.
