About
Dulal Mishtanna Bhandar, in the Damodar bridge area of Pirojpur town, has sold a range of sweets for more than two decades, rasgolla above all. The sweets became known through the late Dulal Das, who once sold matha (buttermilk). His two sons, Nitya Das and Goranga Das, now run the business. Nitya Das says they have made rasgolla and other sweets commercially for twenty years, and demand rises several times over at Eid. Each sweet sells for Tk 12 or Tk 20 depending on size. Locals say that when people talk about sweets in Pirojpur town, 'Dulal Das's rasgolla' is the name that comes up, and visitors to Pirojpur make a point of tasting it.
