'Gupta Tea House' began selling tea leaves in Sreemangal two years after Green Leaf Tea, the town's oldest tea shop (1972). Proprietor Pijush Kanti Dasgupta says his grandfather and father worked in tea manufacturing from the British era, and he is the third generation, now in the tea trade. The shop has no online page: customers who liked its tea phone the numbers kept in a diary to reorder, and tea is sent to buyers across the country. Between January and July this year the order book filled to its last page. He says a good shop's guarantee is the ability to tell genuine tea from fake by smell and sight, and he advises buyers on choosing good tea.
