About
Helena Parvin and her son Arnob Hossain, a diploma engineer, run this mobile pitha and fritter stall on a van in front of the Judicial Court building gate on Muktijoddha Ali Hossain Moni Road (Paris Road) in Jashore town. In September 2024 they began by selling lentil fritters, bora and chickpeas from a small table in front of the police station at Chourasta crossing; on the first day they sold Tk 800 and made about Tk 400 profit. With money given by acquaintances they later bought a van for Tk 8,000 and moved to Paris Road. Among at least 50 fried-snack stalls there, theirs stands out for cleanliness: three sides of the van are netted against flies and mosquitoes, and the frying oil and spices are kept clean. They bring everything from home and open from after midday until 10 pm. The stall has no name yet; they are happy with a profit of Tk 300 to 400 a day.
