About
M/s Khan Agro is Wahid Khan's garol (sheep) farm in Khalishpur, Khulna. He has handed his medical equipment business to his son and now farms full time. About two years earlier he filled in low land to build a goat farm and brought home some Indian Totapuri and Haryana goats along with one garol lamb; finding goats prone to disease and costly to feed, he switched to garol. From that single lamb the farm had 150 garol in 2022, worth about Tk 25 lakh, and he had already sold Tk 6 lakh worth. The tin-roofed shed is raised off the ground on a wooden platform; the animals stay in at night and graze through the day, with some grain feed. He has invested another Tk 2 lakh to expand and aims for 500 garol. People from around the country watch videos of the farm on YouTube, contact him for advice on garol rearing, and some want to buy animals.
