About
Sajib, a man in his thirties from Lalmohan upazila, Bhola, left school to support his poor family and became an apprentice at a sweet shop in Cumilla, where over seven years he became a skilled sweet-maker. He then worked in sweet factories in his home district. In 2023, while working at a factory in Char Fasson, he received training and advice through a development organisation's safe meat and dairy market project, took a loan from it, and opened 'Mishti Mukh and Fast Food' at Mongol Sikder bazar in Lalmohan. The quality of his sweets made it popular, and he opened two more outlets, in Lalmohan town and at Kunjerhat bazar. His factory turns 500-600 kg of cow's milk into sweets every day, several times more at Eid. Twenty-five craftsmen work full time in the shops and factory, and monthly sales run to several lakh taka. Customers come from far away to eat in or take sweets home.
