About
Monir Hossain and Zia Uddin, two master's students at the University of Chittagong, have run a jersey stall with two stands and two tables on the university railway station platform since the last week of May. They started with 13 jerseys from a senior they knew; then, investing about Tk 80,000 and ploughing sales back in, they sold about 400 jerseys worth about Tk 4 lakh in roughly two months, for a profit of Tk 45,000 after costs. Argentina, Spain, France and Brazil jerseys sell most, and they stock three price categories. During the Eid holidays they also sold on the footpaths of Lakshmipur town. They sit at the station every afternoon, also supply buyers at other universities online, and plan to expand a university-focused business.
