Morshed Khan alias Sujon (35) of West Chapulia (Chapulia Railgate), Gazipur city, returned from the UAE, tried a food hotel that failed, and after watching YouTube has kept goats for about two years in a tin shed on the roof of his two-storey house. He started with a Haryana buck bought for Tk 80,000 and a doe with two kids for Tk 96,000; when the herd passed fifty he sold some for lack of space, and now has 35 goats worth about Tk 7 lakh. On the same roof he keeps 20 pairs of pigeons and more than 300 local chickens; an incubator hatches 50 chicks a day, which he sells at various ages. He grows grass on adjoining land and feeds his own organic feed. He has begun adding a third floor to expand the farm.
