About
'Moti Miar Dokan' is a small shop run by Moti Mia, a man in his fifties from the Tirutha area of Jamalpur. After breaking his leg twice at work, he had been earning a living selling bamboo carried on his shoulder. With help from some local people a shop room was built, and then, to mark Prothom Alo's anniversary, members of Jamalpur Bondhushava stocked about 90 percent of the shop's goods and gave the signboard; the shop opened on 24 October 2025. It stocks chips, fried peas, chanachur, biscuits, powdered milk, chocolate, shon papdi, fried lentils, tea leaves, potatoes, onions, garlic, ginger, red lentils, salt, soybean and mustard oil, noodles, and daily items such as shampoo, toothpaste, washing powder and mosquito coils.
