Farmer Humayun Kabir keeps bees in Satoil village, Tentulia union, Manda upazila, Naogaon. After training with a beekeeper in Tanore, Rajshahi, he has for six years (as of 2025) set hives beside his own mustard fields to collect honey. The honey is taken from the combs with an extractor. In 2024 he sold Tk 13 lakh of honey from 100 hives, and with higher prices in 2025 he expected Tk 15-16 lakh. Six to seven workers are employed in season. The agriculture department says bee pollination can raise mustard yields by 30-35 percent, so his mustard harvest grows along with the honey.
