About
Ruhul Amin (22), a young man of Krishnapur village in Bhabrashur union, Muksudpur Upazila, Gopalganj, chose farming over job-hunting after his SSC and in the 2024-25 season planted a Ball Sundari kul (jujube) orchard on one bigha of family land beside his house. Spending Tk 30,000, he sold about Tk 90,000 worth in the first year; every tree bore fruit within six months. The orchard is netted against insects. Many people come to see it, some buy fruit, and those interested in growing kul come to him for advice. Next year he plans to plant the Bharat Sundari variety on 20 decimals. The upazila agriculture officer has advised him regularly.
