Santosh Priya Chakma, an agar trader in Baghaichari, Rangamati, supplies fragrance (attar) from agar trees, formed both naturally and by inserting nails, to traders in Sylhet, Dhaka and Chattogram; the attar goes on to Middle Eastern countries. He says Baghaichari yields the most natural agar fragrance in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. In 2023 the traders formed an association, now being registered. According to the report, nail-induced fragrance sells at Tk 6,000 per tola.
