Zaman Textile, which came from Belkuchi in Sirajganj, runs two workshops in the government Benarasi Palli at Fateh Mohammadpur, Ishwardi upazila, Pabna. It has no plot of its own in the palli; it rents two plots allotted to a local weaver and built its workshops there. Factory manager Shariful Alam said they set up here hoping to find Fateh Mohammadpur's skilled Benarasi weavers. Thirty looms run in the two workshops, producing 25 to 27 saris a week. Fateh Mohammadpur has been known for Benarasi and Katan sari weaving since Partition.
