This woman in Pirojpur makes pitha at home and her customers find her through Facebook. Through the whole of the July 2024 internet shutdown not a single order came in. Ten days later she received one order, for 20 pithas, which earned her very little. Even after the internet returned, Facebook stayed blocked and her sales remained close to nothing. Her buyers had no other way to reach her, and there is no shop front for anyone to walk into. Her capital, her usual monthly sales and her total loss are not stated.
