About
Abdus Salam, a farmer in the Char Hadi area of Dashmina upazila, Patuakhali, used to grow only rice and struggled to support his family. He now has three cows and a buffalo, and selling their milk earns him Tk 800-1,000 a day on average, which has eased his family's hardship. His farm is on Dashmina's chars, where about 65 percent of livestock are buffalo and grazing is free, keeping costs low.
