About
Abdus Sattar of Gazipur Road in Bhola town has made Bhola's famous 'boisha' doi from buffalo milk for about 40 years. What makes this doi special is that it is set from raw buffalo milk, without boiling. He says there is demand all year, but in the rainy season especially he cannot get enough milk. In 2025 he was buying milk at Tk 150 a kg and selling the doi at Tk 200 a kg, a slim margin. In Bhola the doi is eaten with rice, mixed with chira and muri, made into ghol, and in winter with date-palm molasses; it is a staple of hospitality at weddings and festivals.
