About
Azizul Haque of Sailampur, Narayankhola, Nokla, Sherpur, has a dragon fruit garden of more than a hundred plants in his yard. The plants began fruiting within two to three years; in the 2021–22 season he sold Tk 35,000 worth of fruit, with much still on the plants. Though city wholesalers want his fruit, he sells locally to build a local market, and many people come from town to buy fresh fruit at the garden. Following him, neighbours such as Shah Jahan Ali and Sirajul Haque have started growing dragon fruit too.
