Bayezid Hossain of Maria village, Joynagar union, Durgapur upazila, Rajshahi, took a master's in botany at Rajshahi College and chose vegetable farming over a job. He farms various crops on 12-13 bigha, and in the 2025-26 season grew cauliflower on 2.5 bigha. He says the production costs were recovered early and the rest is profit, and he is preparing to grow more vegetables in rotation. Joynagar union is well known for vegetables; leasing one bigha there for a year costs Tk 60,000-70,000.
