About
Masud Rana, a farmer in Palpur village, Godagari upazila, Rajshahi, has grown vegetables commercially since 2019; his family has grown vegetables for generations. On his own six bigha plus about 14 bigha of leased land he grows cabbage, cauliflower, chilli, tomato and other vegetables in every season. In the 2025 season he planted early cabbage on six bigha; planted in the first week of Ashwin, it was ready to cut in 70-75 days. The cabbage from four bigha was sold, and he says that after costs of Tk 1.5 lakh he made a profit of about Tk 4 lakh. Local traders buy cabbage wholesale from farmers like him and take it to Karwan Bazar in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet.
