Brahmaputra Fish Seed is A K M Nurul Haque's hatchery beside the Mymensingh–Kishoreganj highway in Char Puliamari village, Mymensingh Sadar. He began fish farming in his own pond in the Shambhuganj area in 1988 while a student at Ananda Mohan College, bringing Jamuna river fry from Jamalpur and selling fry to neighbours. He farmed Thai koi in 2003. He began work on artificial breeding of mola fish in 2016 and started breeding mola in his hatchery in April 2019; with his fry and advice, mola is now farmed from the north to the south of the country. For this he received the National Fisheries Award (gold medal) on 21 July 2022; earlier he won the Bangabandhu National Agriculture Award (2012), the Department of Fisheries gold medal (2009), the National Youth Award, the BAURES agriculture award and the Channel i Krishi Padak. He spends dawn to dusk at the hatchery with his staff, and university students come here for internships.
