Lalon Mia's duck farm in Kajihati village, Mohongonj upazila, Netrokona, has 400 ducks. He runs it for four months a year, the season when the haor's crop fields are under water, raising the ducks the traditional local way, and earns more than Tk 30,000 a month during those four months. He sells the farm's eggs wholesale at the duck-egg market held every Wednesday at Sheikh Bari crossing on Mohila College Road in Mohongonj town. Traders buy eggs there and send them to Netrokona town, Mymensingh, Dhaka's Kaptan Bazar and Tejgaon, and across the country.
