'Pushpa Hastashilpa' is at the Government Ashek Mahmud College crossing in Jamalpur Sadar; its proprietor is Chamili Hasan. She started the business from her own home in 1998 with one sewing machine and Tk 500, at first making only cushion covers. Later she tried to grow the business with loans, first from an NGO and then from a bank. Ashek Mahmud College Road is the main hub of Jamalpur's handicraft shops, and Bonik Barta names Pushpa Hastashilpa among the town's notable handicraft businesses.
