About
Sultana Khatun's kitchen, set up in the courtyard of her home in Murali on the outskirts of Jashore town, sells home-cooked food online. During Covid, when her husband had no work and the family was struggling, her son Shuvo helped her register on the 'Agamir Uddokta' e-commerce app, and she began supplying food made at home. Customers order through the 'Apur Ranna' app and bike riders on the 'Uddokta Rider' app deliver. In 2024 the kitchen sold Tk 15.16 lakh worth of food, and she won the platform's first prize in the cooked-food category for the highest sales. Sultana can write only her own name; her husband, mother-in-law and elder son Shuvo help her. With her earnings she has finished the roof of the second floor of their house.
