She left an NGO job and started in February 2024 beside Kaptai lake with three machang huts and 30,000 taka of borrowed money. A Krishi Bank loan took the overnight huts to seven, and her capital now stands at about 8 lakh taka.

After a master's at Chattogram College, this woman worked three and a half years for two NGOs before leaving to start something of her own. In February 2024 she built a guest house — the name means guest house in Chakma — on an island-like spot on Kaptai lake at Dokhaiya in Magban union, Rangamati Sadar. The starting capital was 30,000 taka of borrowed money and the accommodation was three machang huts. Once those first huts were earning she took a loan from Krishi Bank and raised the number of overnight huts to seven; her capital now stands at about 8 lakh taka. Five or six workers are employed on a given day depending on visitor numbers, and her mother and brother work in the business too. Starting with bamboo huts on land already in hand kept the first cost small, and the larger borrowing came only once there was income to show for it.
