About
M/S Five Star Fish is a fish auction house (arot) at the Alipur fish landing centre near Kuakata, Patuakhali. Catches from trawlers returning from the sea are brought here and sold by auction. In January 2025, 195 maunds of hilsa from the trawler FB Bismillah-1 were auctioned here for Tk 40.14 lakh. The arot's manager Rabbi said hilsa of 600-800 g sold at Tk 40,000 a maund, 400-500 g fish at Tk 25,000 a maund and smaller ones at Tk 15,000 a maund, with other species fetching Tk 54,000.
