Prodhania Agro

About

Prodhania Agro is Kamruzzaman's grape garden beside the Baburhat–Matlab road at Baburhat Kalibhangti, Chandpur Sadar upazila. He started on a trial basis on 18 decimals in 2024; early on he was cheated repeatedly when buying saplings and lost money, but kept going. He now has three gardens (18, 60 and 20 decimals), about one and a half acres in all, run fully commercially. The garden holds saplings of over a hundred grape varieties and fruits twice a year. He says annual sales are about Tk 20 lakh against costs of about Tk 10 lakh; five regular workers are employed. Having seen it online, people come from Raipur in Lakshmipur and other districts to see the garden and buy saplings. He offers newcomers hands-on training and advice from planting to harvest.
