About
Sobhan Ali, a science student at Sreebordi Government College from the Tatihati area of Sreebordi, Sherpur, was inspired by YouTube to grow broccoli — the first in Sherpur — on 13 decimals of his own land. An earlier watermelon attempt failed because of bad seed. The broccoli cost Tk 10,000; in four days he earned Tk 15,000, selling each head for Tk 20, and he expects at least Tk 20,000 profit. He also grows a little capsicum. People come to see the field and buy, and the upazila agriculture office supports him.
