Ranjit Chandra Das's Mixed Fruit Garden

Ranjit Chandra Das (38), an agri-entrepreneur in Alipura union, Dashmina upazila, Patuakhali, grows apple kul, Kashmiri kul, mango, watermelon and other crops in an integrated mixed fruit garden. He says he spent about Tk 4 lakh on the garden in the 2025-26 season, and demand for apple and Kashmiri kul is so strong that he expects a good profit after all costs. Kul sells well in local markets, and there is scope for wholesale sales to Dhaka and other districts; buyers come to Dashmina from Jashore, Khulna, Barishal and elsewhere. The upazila agriculture office gives kul growers advice and technical support across seven unions.
