About

Travel East is a fusion pan-Asian restaurant on Road 18, Block B, Banani; the article calls it the city's newest restaurant. Its menu fuses dishes from Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, China and Thailand with local tastes in mind — prawn, chicken and vegetable maki rolls, sushi, Thai mango sticky rice, Cantonese fried rice, Taiwanese beef noodle soup and more. Though small, it is filled with greenery inside and out, has a piano, a separate area for groups, and space for formal meetings. Prices are on the high side — a full meal costs about Tk 1,000 — and a bento box of about Tk 1,500 can be shared by two or three people.
