About
Durbin Bangla is a restaurant decorated in Bengali style in a single-storey house in the lane opposite BRAC University's old campus in Mohakhali, Dhaka; after going viral on Facebook it is so busy that guests wait in a waiting zone. Founder and owner Safin Beg chose the name and wants to build an international brand for Bengali food. Manager Debashish Biswas says it started to meet demand in the office district; the food is home-style with moderate spice, oil and chilli, almost every dish uses pure cow ghee, and prices are kept affordable. Tables fill by 8 am; popular breakfasts include butter chicken soup, ghee malai suji, sabji gulistan and brain fry, and hot rosogolla is made by its own sweet-makers at every meal.
