Adams Agro Farm

About

Adams Agro Farm covers seven bighas at Dharmatala in Jashore Sadar upazila, right on the edge of Jashore town. Tea production and processing consultant Abdullah Md. Hossain Masud (63) started the garden and fish ponds as a passion in 2023. About five bighas of orchard hold 850 mango trees of 75 varieties — foreign types such as Miyazaki, Chiang Mai, Kiew Sawoey, banana mango, American Red Palmer and Kensington Pride alongside Himsagar, Langra, Fazli, Haribhanga, Amrapali and BARI varieties. There are also eight kinds of lychee, 200 date palms, 35 coconut trees, 250 betel-nut palms and many other fruit trees. Two ponds of more than two bighas hold native fish including rui, katla, shing, koi, magur, tengra and chital, along with 120 ducks, 19 geese and about 350 native chickens. Two permanent and three temporary workers are employed. The owner makes grafts from his mother trees himself; his aims are conserving varieties, educational display and training, a nursery and sapling sales, and fruit export. The deputy director of Jashore Horticulture Centre says there is no other mango garden this diverse in Jashore.
